No, in order to receive a prescription you will need to have a consultation with the doctor. The exception is for patients who have already had a test with us that has confirmed an infection.
If you have already been seen at our clinic, in some cases you will be able to request a repeat prescription, without coming in for a second consultation.
Depending on the medication, however, a follow-up consultation may be necessary in order to ensure your safety.
No. We cannot guarantee that you will be able to receive the prescription you are requesting from our doctors. The final decision is always at the doctor’s discretion and whatever the case, we will act according to medical and clinical guidelines.
We may need to contact your GP if the prescription you require is for conditions such as anxiety, depression, or insomnia, or if your medication is for pain management, in order to verify the date of your most recent prescription.
No. The consultation fee will not be refunded.
Prescriptions are only issued at the discretion of the doctor based on what they believe to be most appropriate for your condition.
You will receive your prescription on the same day as your consultation, or if tests are pending, you can collect it from the clinic or we can post it to you.
The cost of a standard GP consultation is £100.
When you are issued a private prescription as part of a consultation, there will be no additional charge.
Pharmacist’s fees vary for prescribed medications, these are outwith the control of GP Matters.
