The JET Medical includes:
• General medical examination
• Urinalysis
• Chest x-ray or PPD skin test*
* To avoid unnecessary exposure to radiation, we recommend the PPD skin test instead of the Chest Xray - Guidelines below.
Candidates are required to get a valid tuberculosis test and in most cases, this would be an x-ray of the applicant's lungs (there must also be a doctor's report, simply taking an x-ray would not be adequate). If an x-ray is not an option, a tuberculin test or PPD skin test, or blood test with a doctor's report can also be accepted. If you are unsure if your offered test is acceptable, contact the UK JET Office.
